Late Surendrasinh Rajput’s service mission ran around the clock: Darshanaben Vaghela
Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], August 22: As a tribute to the fighter of the Navnirman Movement and senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party, the road from Civil Hospital to Baliya Limdi Char Rasta has been named “Shri Surendrasinh N. Rajput Marg.” A large number of local residents were present to witness this tribute, paid through the naming ceremony, to their people’s representative who was elected as a corporator from this very area and later as an MLA in the sixth and seventh Legislative Assemblies, and who dedicated his entire life to public service.
Darshanaben Vaghela, Minister of State for Urban Development and Housing, who was present for the naming of the road, expressed her thoughts on seeing the large gathering that had come to pay tribute to their leader, and recalled the memories of late Surendrasinh Rajput’s round-the-clock office, which worked towards the immediate resolution of people’s problems without any discrimination.
Speaking on the occasion, Darshanaben Vaghela, Minister of State for Urban Development and Housing, said that even today, workers striving for equality in society from every village of Gujarat can be seen remembering late Surendrasinh Rajput. She said that young people entering politics should draw inspiration from the life of late Surendrasinh Rajput and move forward by making the creation of a society built on equal opportunity their foundation. She noted that late Surendrasinh Rajput had faithfully discharged every responsibility entrusted to him by the party. She added that today, on his death anniversary, all the leaders and officials of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation had extended their full cooperation in naming this road after him, which reflects his popularity.
Swapnilsinh Rajput, National President of the Gujarat Rajya Seva Samiti, thanked all those present on the dais, stating that it was a matter of pride for his family that, under the leadership of global leader Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi, the party had taken note of the voice of an ordinary worker like himself and graced the occasion with the presence of such dignitaries. He said that late Surendrasinhji Rajput, without any expectations, had joined hands with the then Chief Minister Narendrabhai Modi and become a partner in the nation’s development process. He added that today, his dream of seeing India as a developed nation is being fulfilled.
On this occasion, Member of Parliament Dineshbhai Makwana, former Member of Parliament Narharibhai Amin, Mayor Hiteshbhai Barot, Deputy Mayor Anjuben Shah, Standing Committee Chairman Kamlesh Patel, Whip Atulbhai Mishra, Jashubhai Thakor, Dharamshibhai Desai, Sureshbhai Patel, Sujaybhai Mehta, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation Municipal Commissioner Banchhanidhi Pani, along with Bharatiya Janata Party office-bearers, government officials, senior intellectuals of society, and a large number of citizens were present.
