TRTI, Pune’s Skill Development initiative towards securing right jobs for Tribal youth is well received

New Delhi (India), November 2: Tribal Research and Training Institute, Pune – has been relentlessly working towards research and training especially for preparation competitive exams and employment orientated skill development welfare and education of the tribal communities of Maharashtra. The key focus areas of these schemes have been towards –livelihood, research and documentation, Education, Maternity & child health, Forest resource preservation & development and Skill development.

When it comes to skill development, TRTI, Pune has embarked upon a number of notable projects, key among them Placement linked skill development. Training program one such being Modular Employable Skill MES,/NCVET/MSCVT/SSC  courses that provide sector specific skill training to tribal youth, by NSDC/MSSDS approved training partners and Sector  skill council affiliated Training agencies. Further to that, TRTI, Pune has also conducted an assessment of such training imparted to these tribal youth, and their effect on employability and socio- economic condition.

Another major scheme toward this direction is Jaipal Singh Munda placement linked skill development program. Not only TRTI, Pune has started this scheme, but for the purpose of its speedy and smooth implementation has developed a web portal https://aadiswayam.in/  which acts as one stop solution in providing all necessary information about this scheme including registration of candidates, their training, assessment and finally placement. While the key highlight of this scheme is, offering of over 90 different courses under various sectors, a vast network of Training centres has been set up with qualified Training partners to cover almost every tribal dominated district of Maharashtra, which is in itself an achievement to make the implementation of this scheme a success. In totality, 7000 Students are currently in the process of receiving training, amongst which 2000 have already completed their respective training in different job roles.

The above-mentioned scheme going to bring a sea change in the way tribal youths are being trained and made employment ready, thereby impacting their social economic development in a way that has never been envisaged before in Maharashtra.
